In May 1995, we launched the very first printed edition of the OMNIBUS "What and Where" business directory in Odorheiu Secuiesc with great enthusiasm.
It was a much-needed publication designed to present local businesses, services, and institutions in a structured and easy-to-navigate format—offering everyday guidance for the local community. Back then, we couldn’t have imagined that OMNIBUS would still be around 30 years later—now in a modern, digital format, yet with the same mission.
The Beginning – An Idea That Served the Community
That first edition contained over 1,300 local addresses and phone numbers, along with an up-to-date city map. Our goal was to provide practical assistance for both residents and entrepreneurs. OMNIBUS was more than a directory: it was a community tool that connected supply with demand and helped people navigate the local economic landscape. Even the discount coupons on the first page were already meant to add value for our readers.
Changing World, Constant Mission
Over the past three decades, the world—and Szeklerland along with it—has changed significantly. The rise of the internet and digitalization has transformed how we communicate, shop, and run businesses. OMNIBUS has kept pace. Today, it’s no longer a printed booklet but a modern, web-based database—accessible from anywhere, quick to search, and constantly updated.
